The real PCF boats — also known as Swift Boats — were all-aluminium, 50-foot craft developed by request of the U.S. Navy specifically to combat insurgent activities. Initially used to patrol coastal areas, PCF missions later expanded to interior waterways where they carried Vietnamese forces, blocked enemy arms and munitions, and transported SEAL teams for counter-insurgency operations.
