Radio controlled cars have been around for many years. Most of the RC manufactures releasing new radio controlled car kits each year. It can be hard which remote controlled car to choose.Ā  The first thing you need to consider when selecting from such a vast array of rc cars is ā€œwhat do you want to do with the remote controlled carā€?

Most On Road rc cars need to be run on flat surfaces like a carpark or if you fancy racing your new model then there is some fantastic radio controlled car kits available. If you do select a kit then you need to understand the kit will need building and you may also require other items to complete.Ā  Item like motor, esc, servos or a nitro engine if itā€™s a nitro model. Building your kit is very rewarding and gives you a very good understanding of how the car works.

On Road rc cars can come in different scales too so make sure you understand the scale (size) of the model. 1/5th scale radio controlled cars are very big and need a big area to use them. A 1/24th scale remote controlled car can be used in your house because these are very small models but are still great fun!

The most popular scale is 1/10th scale. There are many additional Hop-Upā€™s you can buy for this scale due to the majority of people using 1/10th scale. This also applies to the bodyshells that are available for 1/10th scale models.Ā  This is really beneficial if you happen to damage your shell or you just fancy a change. Stick a new bodyshell on and you have a different car!
