Drones / Quadcopters

RC drones & quadcopters are really the same thing, but I guess you could say a quadcopter has four propellers and drones have four or more.  RC drones & quadcopters are very similar to an RC plane and helicopter in the way they are controlled.  It can be flown just like a plane and it hovers like an helicopter.  Saying that, RC drones are a lot more specialised in not only their functions but also in the way that they are controlled.

Drones were first used in the military to undertake jobs that were either too difficult or dangerous for a manned aircraft to carry out.  They have an increased number of uses and are very versatile.  Drones come in a variety of sizes. Camera drones have become very popular for both personal and commercial use.  The on-board camera allows the operator to take fantastically clear photographs and 4K video footage.  They have easy manoeuvrability and can reach heights impossible for the operator to obtain all while still achieving professional results.

RC Quadcopters are able to take off vertically, fly in all directions and hover. The propellers are designed to be in a cross type configuration, with two spinning clockwise and two counter clockwise.  A Quadcopter is capable of performing acrobatic stunts like rolls and fast flips but it can also be put into an easy stable flying mode suitable for beginners to use.
