This model kit recreates the iconic Renault 5 Turbo Rally car which was originally released in 1982 as a motorised model kit, then later re-issued in 2011 with updated decals and instruction manual.

The Renault 5 Turbo was a special version of the inimitable 5, developed for rally races. With a 1.4 litre inline-4 turbo engine in place of the rear seats, the Turbo had a midship setup and used lightweight aluminium and plastic panels. The works car won the first global rally of 1981 and was a familiar sight near the top of timesheets thereafter.
