More and more people are starting to print their own models, accessories, and additional parts from within their own homes with the use of a 3D printer. Now 3D printers are more affordable, reliable and easier to use, the requirement for the correct quality filament is essential to the user!
RC Model Shop Direct has partnered up with a UK plastics manufacturer and we are delighted to offer you a PLA filament that is UK manufactured so you know it will be quality produced.
A little insight to the quality process
- After every production run, the manufacturing equipment is cleaned down to always ensure a clean workable environment.
- All the raw material is carefully prepared in terms of storage and drying time to ensure that the best possible product is ready to start making your filament.
- Our selected partner even mixes their own colouring in-house to ensure that they have full control over the whole process retaining the correct colour shade with each run.
Once the 3D printing filament is produced, it is placed on the production spool in airtight bags with desiccant and stored in their filament Vault. Once the filament has cured on the production spool, they unpack and place it on their unwinder. This machine then Laser checks the filament and places it onto environmentally friendly spools. The individual spool is then packed into it’s own individual bag and then placed back in the Filament Vault until it is ready to ship to us.
