New Team Driver – Paul Ruckledge
***NEW DRIVER ANNOUNCEMENT***
RC Model Shop Direct is delighted to announce a new member to our increasing driver team. Paul Ruckledge is one of the nicest guys you could meet and his knowledge of anything vintage RC is immense!
I was first introduced to Paul some years ago when he popped into the shop and his enthusiasm for anything RC related shone through, and it was a pleasure to listen to him. Since then, Paul has raced with us at Ignition Raceway, helped me on numerous occasions with the older models and it’s my pleasure to welcome him to the RCMSD team.
Here are a few words from Paul:-
Hi I’m Paul Ruckledge. I am 46 years young and from the UK.
I’ve been into RC since the very early 80’s. I started with toy grade models at the age of 6 and moved on to hobby grade at about age 11. I started with the Tamiya Hornet and joined a local club at Knottingley in 1986, we raced outside the Kellingley Social Club on the grass. We never had the privileges some kids had growing up, and we had to learn to fix things ourselves. Dad would advise and show us tips and tricks and that is where the love of restoring old RC cars started. Whether it be Mardave, Tamiya, Kyosho or Associated, I love the challenge. After a 27 year gap of not racing, I still always enjoyed restoring and collecting. I got the bug back to start racing indoors with Lee Burns and loved it once again. I am now doing the Iconic Vintage Revival (Buggy’s) and the Iconic Cup (Vintage On-road). It is great to have the bug back for racing
If you see Paul out and about at any of the great RC clubs we have in the UK please say hello. Paul would more than happy to help or advise.
